With over 24 years of experience, Dr. May has worked with diverse learners, families, school districts, and charter schools across Northern and Southern California. Dr. May holds her LEP as well as California PPS credentials in school psychology and school counseling. She has a M.S. in psychology and a Psy.D. in educational psychology. Dr. May has offices in San Jose and San Diego, and regularly travels across California, and further afield.

With expertise in the rollout of the state’s dyslexia legislation, she turns complex policy into practical solutions that make sense for districts and classrooms. Drawing on her doctoral dissertation research and 24+ years of practice, Dr. May has created evidence-based tools and trainings for administrators, psychologists, and teachers—giving them the knowledge and resources to support all learners. Dr. May partners with districts to make universal screening, structured literacy, and professional development not just requirements, but real opportunities for stronger, more equitable literacy outcomes.
